GLASS AND CANDLE EXPERIMENT (FREE RESOURCE)
Is your child intrigued by science?
Description
Eager Little Beavers brings you an exclusive new series of free experiments with prompting questions to ask your little one while you conduct the experiment! This one is called “GLASS AND CANDLE” experiment! With this experiment watch the water rise and create bubbles as soon as you place the glass over the candle! The reason why this happens is because once the glass is standing on the plate, the burning candle uses up all the available oxygen in the glass, then goes out. As it does so, the air in the glass cools, and as it cools, the air pressure in the glass falls below atmospheric pressure. Water is drawn into the glass until the pressure is equalised.
